Nuts to you

And finally a word or two about on one of my favourite subjects ...

Tremendous news in what has been a fine week to date for English sporting endeavourists* has emerged late in the day.

The news comes to us hot on the heels of a defeat over an Australian rugby team so poor that in the run in to the World Cup there was speculation that we [the Australians] would be somewhat fortunate to get through the group phase - news that the English have managed to secure a cricket series win over Sri Lanka. Go plucky England.

And that's not all.

Ashton's been able to name an unchanged squad to face Les Bleus in this week's semi final; apparantly there'd been an injury scare but in an interview with Robbo broadcast this evening Jonny's confirmed that he's completely happy with his balls.

That must come as a sizeable relief to some lucky girl.

* I'm happy to be corrected, and given that the only 'authority' I've yet consulted is the blogger 'spellchecker', I probably will be - but I believe that I've just invented a new word, and one the English language was crying out for, even if it didn't know it. Indeed, why wasn't this frightfully useful word invented by someone else sooner?
