Yesterday's dramas had a sequel today: another young woman in this afternoon attempting to leave with two bottles of vodka up her jumper. She was stopped leaving the store by a member of staff, dropped one bottle to create a weapon, then when she couldn't reach it - being pinned, she threatened to make use of a syringe she had about her.
The police who called (eventually) yesterday evening had warned us about this use of their drug paraphernalia, but the member of staff was too fired up. Fortunately this was a one-off visit. The police were called but made no appearance. We've had no visit by our internal security people since Saturday, when the CCTV went down and a sarcastic memo outlining recent events has been fired off to the highest level.
Until these people are locked out or relocated onto another patch we'll just have to bear the losses.
